A Real Boiler

Alpha’s first consumer brand awareness campaign needed to be something special. A stockpile of product meant to ease Brexit-related delays was now an opportunity to outpace previously untouchable top-tier boiler brands experiencing pandemic-related supply issues.
From my original script, ‘A Real Boiler’ brings elements of Pinocchio to tell the story of an anthropomorphic boiler who wants to find its forever home keeping a family warm.
A 60-second TV ad aired during Christmas 2020 with a non-christmasy version from January onwards supported by social posts featuring the same characters. Consumers and 3rd party heating installers could order a direct mail pack including a children’s story book adaptation of the advert.
The end result was a 40% year-on-year uplift in sales with over 10,000 of the promotional packs being produced.
